It comes with locks to secure the rack to your vehicle and your bikes to the rack. The Yakima FullBack has a weight limit of 35 lbs per bike. No 4-bike trunk-mount racks are made for any car due to the extreme weight load this would present. The chance for damage to the trunk or rear hatch from all that weight (easily 150-lbs between the 4 bikes and the weight of the rack itself) would be too much for the car.

When this occurs with a vehicle it generally means that the trunk's sheet metal is too delicate to handle the weight of a loaded bike rack and/or that there is a feature, such as a rear spoiler, that prevents a proper fit.

Trunk mounted bike racks have to be totally removed before opening the rear hatch of a vehicle. The additional weight would make the struts that normally hold the door open unpredictable (most likely would fall) and a lot of the time the hooks would damage the body of the vehicle if the hatch was attempted to open since it would press against the vehicle.

A hitch bike rack or a trunk mount style bike rack would be the only way to be able to use the same bike rack on two of the three vehicles (2008 Honda Civic, 2011 Acura TSX). I have a possible solution for you to carry 2 bikes on your 2018 BMW 4 Series convertible, but there are not any trunk-mounted bike racks for your convertible so you will want to go the route of using a hitch-mounted bike rack.
